Citywide Vision

The City Planning Department is embarking on a planning process to develop a long-range vision for the City of Tampa.  A strong relationship between infrastructure, mobility, and land use is critical in creating a livable, vibrant, and resilient community.  This Citywide Vision will be used to guide the update to the 2040 Tampa Comprehensive Plan, which was last updated in 2016.

By 2045, Tampa’s population will grow by more than 150,000 people

The Citywide Vision Plan will consider critical issues affecting the City’s future, including the five focus areas of Mayor Castor’s Transforming Tampa’s Tomorrow (T3) strategic plan

  • Housing Affordability
  • Infrastructure & Mobility
  • Workforce Development
  • Land Development & Construction
  • Sustainability & Resilience

Other important issues that will be considered:

  • Urban Design
  • Land Use & Zoning
  • Land Development
  • Growth Management
  • Neighborhood planning
  • more
