April is recognized as World Autism Acceptance Month, a time dedicated to increasing awareness and fostering inclusivity for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and the broader special needs community.

This year, the Tampa Police Department, in collaboration with C.U.P. (Coffee Uniting People), will host the "Sip, Smile, and Support for Autism" event on April 8th. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., officers will work alongside employees with special needs, serving patrons and promoting meaningful interactions that encourage understanding and acceptance.

In addition to the café experience, outdoor activities will include hand-painting public safety vehicles and a dedicated sensory station. We welcome all community partners to join us in support of this important initiative. We look forward to seeing you there.
