Did you know: at least 47% of American adults are living with hypertension (high blood pressure) today. Hypertension is known as the “silent killer” because there are no signs and symptoms of high blood pressure. One out of every three adults in the United States with high blood pressure are not even aware that they have it.

During this presentation, we'll learn why it is important to understand your blood pressure, as well as ways that may help to better manage your blood pressure.

Specifically, we will:

• Define what blood pressure and high blood pressure is.

• Learn how to check your blood pressure.

• Identify the risk factors for developing hypertension and the consequences of untreated high blood pressure.

• Learn healthier behaviors that may help to lower or manage high blood pressure and hypertension.

• Review available UnitedHealthcare resources.
