Additional Hiring Criteria

The hiring criteria for those seeking employment as sworn personnel or civilian are as follows:

No illegal use of controlled substances, which includes the following:

• Applicant must not have illegally used, tried, or experimented with any drugs classified as controlled substances, or any other illegal drugs; within the last twenty-four (24) months for police officer position, and twelve (12) months for civilian position.  

Criminal History

• All prior arrest must be sealed or expunged.

Additional hiring criteria but not limited to:

• Must be at least 21 years of age for sworn position.
• 18 years of age for civilian position. 
• No theft that would constitute a felony crime.
• Tattoos on face, neck, hands are prohibited.
