Use this form to submit a nomination for the Josephine Howard Stafford Memorial Award as part of the City of Tampa's 2024 Women's History Month Celebration. The award recognizes a current or former City of Tampa female employee, with a minimum of five years of service to the City and best meets the Award criteria. Current and former elected officials or those who have filed to run for elected office are not eligible for nomination.

Completed nominations must be received by January 8, 2024 at 5:00 p.m..  The Women's History Month Celebration will be held March 5, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the Tampa Bay History Center.


Award Criteria

Award nominees have regularly demonstrated some or all of the following attributes: Vision, Courage, Initiative, Motivation, Selflessness, Commitment, Dependability, and Accomplishment.  Nominees will be judged based on the following criteria:  

  • Excellence in her career field; demonstrated leadership as a role model or mentor; advancement to a professional level OR field where women are under-represented 
  • Commitment to her career through active involvement in professional associations and organizations 
  • Commitment to community service through volunteer activities that are in addition to her professional duties.
