Primary Details
The City’s existing Morris Bridge Pump Station is situated on a 56.6 acre site in Tampa, Florida, near the intersection of Bruce B. Downs Boulevard and Interstate 75. Various facilities exist on the site, including the following: Filter building, Maintenance and storage buildings, Dewatering building, ground storage tanks, electrical gear, controls, main pump station electrical rooms, and abandoned facilities that formerly served as a lime softening WTF. This project will rehabilitate and replace existing infrastructure, such as the Filter Building roof, and eliminate deteriorating facilities and equipment to increase operational and maintenance efficiency.
Rehabilitation of the Filter Building will provide for future use of the Continuity of Operations Planning (COOP) site during emergencies. This building is ideal for a COOP for the following reasons: easy access to major roads, available real estate, close proximality to the point of connection with the Tampa Bay Water, and existing connection to the city network.
