BayCare Presents: Heart Disease-Prevention, Diagnosis and Treatment
Heart disease remains the leading cause of mortality worldwide, but with early detection and state-of-the-art surgical interventions, we can significantly improve patient outcomes. Preventing heart disease
involves lifestyle modifications as risk factors from an imbalance increase risk. Will briefly discuss have hypertension, diabetes, and high cholesterol. Accurate diagnosis is critical and involves advanced
imaging techniques. Will discuss role of coronary angiogram and subsequent cardiac surgery referral as well as diagnostic adjuncts of echocardiography, cardiac MRI, coronary CT angiography. Discuss
risks and benefits of coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and utility with any concomitant procedures.
