Welcome to the City of Tampa

A Message from Mayor Jane Castor

On behalf of the City of Tampa and its employees, we welcome you to our multicultural city.

Tampa has been qualified as one of the best cities to live, and for all those sports fans, it is home to Tampa Bay Buccaneers American football team and Tampa Bay Lightning hockey team.

Tampa is also recognized for its excellent universities, world-class hospitals, quality museums, wonderful restaurants, and one of the best craft beer breweries in the nation. We are home to spectacular attractions such as Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, the Florida Aquarium, the ZooTampa at Lowry Park, Straz Center for the Performing Arts, Tampa Museum of Art, Tampa Bay History Center, and Glazer Children's Museum, which makes this city an ideal place to visit, work and live.

Every year we organize the best festivities like the Gasparilla Festival, and most recently "Boom by the Bay". For your family enjoyment, our Parks and Recreation department maintain more than 12 pools, 178 parks, 30 community centers, 10 dog parks,  3 skateboard parks, and more than 300 miles of multi-purpose trails. Through the "Stay and Play" initiative, we have extended the hours of operations in different community centers. The Tampa Riverwalk extends 2.5 miles and connects 5 different parks, which include an aquatic park, a dog park, a community center, and ramps for kayaks.

We created this page thinking about you. In our site, you will be able to find information about public services and recreational activities included in our calendar of events.

So whether you are visiting or you just moved to our great city, we welcome you!
