Latinos Ascend Estrella Award will be presented at the Latinos Ascend: Noche de Estrellas Black-Tie event on December 12 ,2024. The award, created in honor of Dr. Anh-Kay Pizano, recognizes rising stars under 40 in the Latino community.

Dr. Anh-Kay Pizano dedicated her career and passion to lifting students to reach their college dreams, both in the community and at her alma mater. She co-chaired the Latinos Unidos Luncheon, supported the DALE initiative and countless other MHAC initiatives. Kay had the highest consideration for others, especially those in need; she was conscientious, sensitive and intuitive, often elevating others' needs ahead of her own.

The award is designated to recognize an individual under 40 that exhibits Dr. Pizano's most treasured characteristics and values such as commitment to higher education for Latinos, leadership, collaborator, service to others, and perseverance. The individual nominated shows clear evidence of the tremendous promise to be a changemaker and is an innovator.
