7th Ave Bricking Phase 1

15th to 17th Street

Historic East 7th Avenue, named one of America's 10 Great Streets, is the main commercial thoroughfare of Ybor City. The Ybor City CRA hired an outside contractor to brick East 7th Avenue, between North 15th and 17th Streets, beginning Monday, July 29, 2024. The overall project goal is to brick all fourteen blocks of 7th Avenue, from Nick Nuccio Parkway to 26th Street.

Ybor Park ADA

Parks ADA

On February 9th, 2023, Parks, and Recreation (P&R) staff reported the projected costs to improve park accessibility with the redevelopment areas compliant ADA Guidelines while also improving inclusive play. The report also provided for nineteen (19) additional inclusive play elements (previously unfunded). The CRA Board approved funding the 5-year project (FY 23-27).

Project Status: City Park and Recreation is implementing projects meanwhile CRA staff is monitoring progress.

Ybor City Flooding

Ybor Flooding Study

Consultant was contracted in conjunction with a City/Ybor CRA partnership to complete stormwater modeling for the 15th Street and 17th Street storm drain system located in Ybor City. Specifically, the study area is bounded by I-4 to the north, Ybor Channel to the south, 12th Street to 15th Street to the west, and 17th Street to 21st Street to the east. The site is located within Section 18, Township 29S, Range 19E in the City of Tampa, Florida.

Ybor Wayfinding

The Ybor I & II CRA Districts is embarking on a revitalization project to enhance the visibility and navigability of its historic landmarks and commercial areas through the design, fabrication, and installation of period-appropriate signage. This project aims to blend functionality with historical authenticity to maintain the district’s unique character while improving visitor experience and wayfinding.
