Interbay Blvd (Manhattan Ave to Tanker Way)

Roadway improvements at Interbay Blvd between S Manhattan Ave and Tanker Way will include the construction of an additional right-turn lane on eastbound Interbay Blvd and the realignment of the travel lanes between Manhattan Ave and Tanker Way. These improvements will help reduce congestion and traffic delays.

The current roadway layout at Interbay Blvd includes a single eastbound right-turn lane onto Tanker Way, an access point for MacDill Air Force Base. The vehicles entering MacDill Air Force Base must be processed at the existing checkpoint creating a queue. The single right-turn lane has insufficient storage for vehicles entering MacDill Air Force Base resulting in the queue extending onto the thru lanes on Interbay Blvd. The proposed additional right-turn lane will provide additional storage and reduce congestion on Interbay Blvd.
