Make a Wish Southern Florida and Tampa Fire Rescue joined forces last week to grant 11-year old Samuel the wish of a lifetime—to be a firefighter for a day.
Samuel, a Tampa local living with cystic fibrosis, spent Tuesday, November 20th with Tampa Fire Rescue gearing up, riding in the fire truck, and even putting out fires.
The Tampa Convention Center was honored to meet Tampa Fire Rescue’s newest member last Tuesday when the crew made a special stop at our boating docks. Samuel already knew all about fire trucks—but to give him an even more unique experience, Tampa Fire Rescue decided to take him for a ride on their fireboat as well.
Samuel boarded the fireboat at our docks and had the opportunity to test his skills flowing water. It’s safe to say he was a natural!
This wish came just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday, allowing Samuel to live out his dream of being a firefighter while touching the hearts of all around him.
