Tampa Connect Privacy Policy

Tampa Connect is a mobile application that citizens and visitors can download on their mobile devices and receive up-to-date city-related information, place a service request, or ask general questions.

The City of Tampa may provide push notifications through real-time messaging alerting users about Citywide information and/or submitted Service Requests. These notifications will only be provided to users who opt-in to receive such notifications. If a user subsequently chooses to no longer receive the push notifications, such notifications may be disabled by changing the settings via the settings page of the user's mobile device.

The collection of personal information on the mobile app is limited to that which is reasonably necessary to address clients' needs. Personal information collected on the Tampa Connect mobile app will be used to ensure compatibility with the technology used by clients and to improve services on the app. This information may include but is not limited to the location of the mobile device; device ID; type of browser and operating system; date and time user accessed photos, media files, and documents sent to the mobile app; domain name of Internet Service Provider and/or mobile device; sections of the app accessed and forms data; and the IP address of the Internet Service Provider and/or the mobile device. The app does not use this data for commercial or marketing purposes and does not sell, exchange, or otherwise distribute the collected data for commercial or marketing purposes.

Any photos taken and uploaded through the mobile app may reveal the location coordinates of where the photo was taken.

Please be aware that when you provide information to any government entity, that information may be subject to the Sunshine Law and applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations.
