The Veterans History Project of the American Folklife Center collects, preserves, and makes accessible the personal accounts of American war veterans so that future generations may hear directly from veterans and get a better understanding of the realities of war. In this episode, Mr. Emanuel Johnson, a veteran of World War II, talks about his childhood in Marianna, Florida. He also recounts his service in the U.S. Army, including driving across Germany during and after the war.
