Feeds Information

We make some information from the City of Tampa website and our web applications available through feeds.  Common formats for feeds are RSS and JSON.  Below are the feeds that are currently available.

Get Event Types

Response: JSON Array of event categories

Get Events by Type

GET https://www.tampa.gov/mobile-feeds/events/{typeId}
Parameters: typeId (number or 'all') its possible to use + for more types ex. events/{typeId}+{typeId}
Response: JSON Array of event objects with dates, titles, descriptions, and locations

Calendar Feeds

Our site offers iCal feeds that allow you to automatically import events from our calendar into your own. If the feed link does not work automatically on your device, you may need to manually subscribe to the calendar feed.

Right Click to copy the URL for a calendar feed to import into your calendar software.

If the calendar feed links do not automatically work. Simply copy the "Download" URL to your clipboard (don't just download the .ics file since you won't subscribe to new events that way). 

  1. Copy "Download" URL of the calendar feed
  2. Subscribe to that URL in your calendar software

Below are some instructions for popular calendar software.

How to manually add a feed

  1. Open Google Calendar.
  2. On the left side, find "Other calendars" and click the + icon.
  3. Select "From URL".
  4. Enter the calendar feed URL (e.g., https://example.com/calendar.ics).
  5. Click "Add Calendar".

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Go to the "File" menu and select "Account Settings" > "Account Settings".
  3. Click the "Internet Calendars" tab.
  4. Click "New".
  5. Enter the calendar feed URL (e.g., https://example.com/calendar.ics) and click "Add".
  6. Follow the prompts to complete the subscription.

  1. Open Outlook on the web.
  2. Click on the calendar icon in the bottom left.
  3. In the left pane, click "Add calendar".
  4. Select "Subscribe from web".
  5. Enter the calendar feed URL (e.g., https://example.com/calendar.ics).
  6. Click "Import".

  1. Open the Calendar app.
  2. Go to "File" > "New Calendar Subscription".
  3. Enter the calendar feed URL (e.g., https://example.com/calendar.ics).
  4. Click "Subscribe".
  5. Configure the subscription settings as needed and click "OK".

  1. Open the "Settings" app.
  2. Scroll down and tap "Calendar".
  3. Tap "Accounts" > "Add Account" > "Other".
  4. Tap "Add Subscribed Calendar".
  5. Enter the calendar feed URL (e.g., https://example.com/calendar.ics).
  6. Tap "Next" and then "Save".
