The City of Tampa's Emergency Management teams continue to monitor potential severe weather, which may impact the region within the next few days. As a precaution, the City of Tampa is activating three sandbag distribution sites beginning Sunday, August 27, 2023.

SANDBAG STATION ACTIVATION SCHEDULE:
Sunday, August 27, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Seniors and residents with Special Needs)
Sunday, August 27, from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (General Public)
*Thereafter, distribution sites will be open daily from 8:00 am-7:00 pm until further notice.
Tampa residents interested in receiving sandbags must show identification verifying residence within the city limits. A valid driver's license, utility bill or electric bill will serve as appropriate identification. There is a ten bag limit.
"We cannot stress enough how important it is to be prepared for a major storm," said Chief Barbara Tripp with Tampa Fire Rescue. "We are urging all Tampa residents to review your evacuation zone and prepare a disaster kit for an evacuation or for a prolonged power outage. Additionally, make a plan to check on your elderly neighbors and family members to make sure they are prepared."
