Road Closure in Place Near Tampa Convention Center Until May 15

On Monday, March 4, Phase 1 of the Harbour Island Force Main Replacement Project at Franklin and Water Streets will be completed and Phase 2 will begin. Phase 2 will require the closure of Franklin Street, north of Water Street, near the Tampa Convention Center. 

Northbound traffic on Franklin Street will be detoured to Water Street and then to Florida Avenue. Southbound traffic on Franklin Street will be detoured at Channelside Drive to Florida Avenue, then west along Water Street.

Drivers are advised to consider alternate routes and use caution when driving in the area.

For those driving to the Tampa Convention Center, The Sail Plaza, Big Ray’s Fish Camp Riverwalk, or the Tampa Convention Center Marina (with docks for the Bay Rocket, Cross-Bay Ferry, eBoats, Kraken Cycleboats, Pirate Water Taxi, Riverwalk Boating Company, and Tampa Bay Fun Boat), we recommend going directly to the following parking garages:

ADA parking spots and access via ramps are available at the Tampa Convention Center Parking Garage, located directly across from the center's Franklin Street Entrance.

Tampa Convention Center clients may be permitted limited access to Front Drive for shuttles and should coordinate in advance with their Convention Services Manager.

Closed road segments are scheduled to be reopened by May 15, 2024.
