TAMPA, Fla. (June 17, 2024) -- The Tampa Police Department Black History Committee is proud to announce the upcoming Juneteenth Summer Block Party at Perry Harvey Park.
This event will feature local vendors, nonprofits, special recognitions, raffles, and a bike giveaway.
Since hosting its inaugural Black History Month Celebration in 1988, the Black History Committee has been dedicated to building rapport with the community by organizing community events, historical education and investing in youth awarding scholarships to high school students in the City of Tampa.
Today, the committee continues its mission of strengthening the relationship between Tampa police officers and the community they serve. This year’s theme, ‘Black History 365’ emphasizes the importance of continuous community engagement through various outreach events and activities. Instead of just one day, we are spreading our efforts of supporting educational opportunities for youth, lending a hand, and building strong, positive relationships throughout our community.
The Tampa Police Department is committed to fostering unity within the community through events like the Juneteenth Summer Block Party.
