By Kirstin Albert, Communications Coordinator - Tampa Convention Center
Tampa Convention Center has released new, updated renderings of its renovated facade. The upgrades are a part of the $38 million Capital Improvement Campaign, which is well underway in the construction phase.
The updated facade is the face of the Tampa Convention Center that overlooks the Tampa Riverwalk. The modern look was designed by Baker Barrios Architects, Inc., and they have evolved the renderings as the project has progressed.
The facade includes an addition to the Tampa Convention Center, adding another 18,000 square feet of meeting space. That space includes 18 new waterfront meeting rooms, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows with breathtaking views of the Garrison Channel in Downtown Tampa.
Construction of these new waterfront meeting rooms is making progress and projected to be completed in 2023. Installation of the roof on the addition is nearly complete, as is the installation of the window glass.
