The new Housing Rehabilitation and Renovation Program will assist those within the Community Redevelopment Areas, or CRA's.
The City of Tampa's Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) has announced new dates and locations for application distribution, processing and acceptance over the next three weeks for its Housing Rehabilitation & Renovation Program (HRRP). The program aims to provide financial assistance for the renovation and repair of homes within the City of Tampa's CRA Districts, ensuring safe and secure housing for all residents.
The below dates offer outreach at several CRA District locations:
Wednesday, August 21 from 6 PM - 9 PM: MLK Recreation Center, 2200 N. Oregon Avenue – Distribution of Applications
Wednesday, September 4 from 9 AM - 12 PM: Hillsborough Education Foundation, 2306 N. Howard Avenue – Distribution of Applications
Saturday, September 7 from 9 AM - 12 PM: Hanna City Center, 2555 E. Hanna Avenue – Processing Applications
Tuesday, September 10 from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM: Blythe Andrews Library 2607 E. Dr. MLK, Jr. Boulevard – Accepting Applications
Some eligible repairs that are covered through HRRP are:
- Roof system repair or replacement
- Failing or lacking plumbing
- Electrical systems
- Failed structural systems such as floors and structural walls
- Lack of working heat/AC
- Exterior deterioration (walls, foundation, porches, siding, etc.)
- Window Replacement
- Tree Trimming
- ADA improvements
This program helps residents of Tampa's CRA's -- both renters and homeowners -- who earn up to 140% of the Area Median Income (AMI).
In addition to filling out the application, individuals must provide the following information: Personal identification, proof of income from all sources for all household members for the last 60 days, recent bank and utility statements, current mortgage statement (if applicable), and a copy of the current homeowner's insurance policy.
