Previous Release:

Tampa, Fla. (August 4, 2024) — City of Tampa offices and services will be open on Monday, August 5, including trash, recycling, and yard waste collections.

Residents should NOT place sand bags in any City-issued solid waste container. Those wanting to immediately dispose of sand bags are encouraged to bring them to the City of Tampa McKay Bay Scale House, located at 114 South 34th Street.

While City of Tampa Parks & Recreation facilities are expected to be open on Monday, some parks and park services maybe impacted depending on storm damage.

City personnel will be conducting a thorough damage assessment early Monday morning as the storm passes. Tampa residents or business owners whose properties experience non-life threatening damages caused by the storm are encouraged to fill out the Resident Damage Self Reporting Form(tampa.gov/SelfReport).

After every storm, the City of Tampa’s Public Works and Code Enforcement teams report damages to Hillsborough County and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). By filling out this form, residents can help city crews identify damages more efficiently and report back to county, state, and federal authorities. This form does not replace a homeowner’s private property insurance claims.

Drivers on the roadway Monday morning should be cautious and never drive through flood water. To report any flooding, individuals should call the Stormwater Customer Service Line at (813) 274-3101.

As with any emergency situation, 911 should be the first call. For all other non-life threatening emergencies, individuals are asked to reach out to the Tampa Police Department non-emergency line at (813) 231-6130.

For continued text alerts related to the storm, individuals can text TAMPAREADY or TAMPALISTA (Spanish) to 888-777. Follow @AlertTampa and @CityofTampa for updates.
