The City of Tampa, in partnership with the Junior League of Tampa, will be collecting diapers the week of September 23 for local families in need. The donation drive will kick off with a flag raising ceremony, on Monday, September 23, hosted by City Councilman Luis Viera.

The ceremony, taking place at 10:00 am outside Old City Hall, will mark the beginning of National Diaper Need Awareness Week (September 23-29), a weeklong effort to raise awareness about the diaper shortage affecting local families.

National Diaper Need Awareness Week focuses on the importance of providing adequate diapers to families in need. Without enough diapers, babies and toddlers face health risks, and parents often experience increased financial stress. No family should have to choose between paying for food or keeping their child clean and healthy.

Throughout the week, city landmarks will be illuminated Junior League blue for awareness. Community members wanting to donate to the diaper drive are encouraged to drop off donations at the following locations:

  • Tampa Municipal Office Building, 306 E Jackson St
  • City Center at Hanna Avenue, 2555 E Hanna Ave

Donated diapers will go directly to families in need through the Junior League of Tampa. For more information on how to donate or get involved, please contact the Junior League of Tampa.
