TAMPA, FL. (October 10, 2024)- Tampa Police are investigating the death of an elderly woman, which is believed to be related to restoration efforts post Hurricane Milton.
Just after 11:00 a.m., officers responded to the 2800 block of N. Nebraska Ave following the report of a large tree branch that had collapsed.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult female in her early 70’s underneath the branch. The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Based on the preliminary investigation, post-hurricane restoration efforts were being done on the property, when the limb fell. At this time, the death appears accidental in nature.
“Although the storm has passed, its devastation has tragically taken the life of one of our community members,” said Chief Lee Bercaw. “Our thoughts are with the family as they grieve their loved one.”
