Water Department Responding to Storm Damage

This information is 2 months 2 weeks old and may no longer be accurate.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, Tampa Water Department staff is actively investigating and responding to water main breaks caused by storm damage. The department wants to reassure the public that staff is working to make any necessary repairs. Please keep in mind that the department continues to deliver clean, high-quality water to communities across our service area.

However, many of our staff members are actively working to clear roads for first responders. Due to this effort, the department is asking the public for patience as response times for water main breaks may be longer than usual at this time.

As recovery efforts continue, staff will shift resources back to making any necessary repairs to our water distribution system, addressing larger water main breaks first.

Customers will be notified if crews need to shutdown their service to repair a nearby water main break. If that does occur, we urge customers to follow any precautionary boil water notices that they may receive
