As the holiday season kicks off downtown, another national award is parking itself in the City of Tampa! The Tampa Convention Center (TCC) Garage, a vital facility supporting holiday markets, parades, and seasonal events, was recently named the "2024 Innovative Facility of the Year" by the National Parking Association (NPA).
Founded in 1951, the NPA is the leading parking trade organization in North America representing more than 2,500 commercial and public organizations.
The Tampa Convention Center Garage is a critical facility that supports many of the events hosted at the Tampa Convention Center and throughout Downtown. Recently, significant operational and quality of life upgrades have been made inside. One of the biggest changes makes the garage "frictionless," using gate arms, camera sensors, and a multi-app payment system - the first of its kind in Florida.
These improvements -- along with freshly added interior paint and brighter, more sustainable LED lights -- have improved safety and enhanced the overall customer experience.
The Tampa Convention Center Garage has 443 spaces and is one of four frictionless garages operated by the Parking Division.
