Busy Weekend Ahead: Tampa Pride and More

Tampa will celebrate its diversity this Saturday, March 29th, as the annual and always colorful Tampa Pride Street Festival and Parade shine in historic Ybor City. With nearly 8,000 attendees expected, drivers should be prepared for road closures and heavy traffic in the area.

Road Closures:

  • Pride Street Festival: Road closures related to the festival are scheduled from 7:00 AM – 5:30PM. The event kicks off at 10:45 AM with vendor areas located on E. 9th Avenue and the HCC Parking Lot.
  • Food Alley: Road closures associated with the Food Alley are scheduled from 9:00 AM - midnight. Located on 9th Avenue between 13th and 14th Streets, the Food Alley will be open from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
  • Pride Parade: Parade road closures will be in effect from noon – 9PM. The route begins at 7th Avenue and Nuccio Parkway, ending at 7th Avenue and 20th Street. Expect closures and Tampa Police Department officers along the route. The parade starts rolling at 4:00 PM.
     

Affected Roadways:

  • Nuccio Parkway between N. Nebraska Avenue and E. Palm Ave
  • E. 7th Avenue between N. Nebraska Avenue and N. 21st Street
  • E. 8th Avenue between N. 15th Street and N. 17th Street
  • E. 8th Avenue between N. 20th Street and N. 21st Street
  • N. 19th Street between E. Palm Avenue and E. 7th Avenue
     

Other Events Impacting Traffic:

  • Tampa Convention Center: Event move-out starts at 8:00 AM and could impact morning traffic around TCC.
  • Tampa Bay Lightning Game: The game at Amalie Arena starts at 2:00 PM.
  • Tampa Bay Empanada Festival: This event at Perry Harvey Park begins at noon.
  • Universoul Circus: Performances at Raymond James Stadium at noon, 3:30 PM, and 7:30 PM.
  • Tampa Bay Rays Game: The game at Steinbrenner Field begins at 4:10 PM.
     

Alternate Transportation: To avoid the traffic congestion, we recommend using alternate transportation options like the FREE TECO Line Streetcar, DASH Service, HART Buses (Rt. 1 is FREE), rentable scooters, bikes, etc.

City parking garages will be open and available.
