Tampa AAPI Festival Brings Culture, Food, and Tradition to the City

The Tampa Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Festival is back, bringing a day of authentic flavors and dynamic performances to the heart of downtown. The community event, set for March 22, 2025, from 12 pm to 7 pm at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park (600 North Ashley Drive), is the city’s largest celebration of Asian American Pacific Islander cultures.

Organized by the Mayor’s Asian American Pacific Islander Council, the festival highlights the traditions and contributions of AAPI communities in Tampa, with representation from countries including Korea, the Philippines, China, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, India, Japan, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Malaysia.

“Tampa is home to so many cultures that add depth and character to our community, and the AAPI Festival is a chance to honor those traditions,” said Mayor Jane Castor. “By experiencing the music, food, and customs shared here, we gain a deeper connection to our neighbors and a greater appreciation for the many influences that make Tampa the incredible city it is today.”

The festival will feature live cultural performances, traditional and modern dance, music, and martial arts demonstrations. Attendees can enjoy authentic cuisine from local restaurants and vendors, explore a marketplace filled with handmade goods and cultural exhibits, and participate in interactive workshops and family-friendly activities. Free health screenings will also be available.
