This information is 4 years old and may no longer be accurate.

The City of Tampa and Tampa Downtown Partnership are excited to announce a new signature event to name an official beverage of Tampa. Crafting Tampa’s Cocktail will take place on center ice of Winter Village from 6-8pm December 1st, inviting local mixologists to pour their creativity and expertise into a competition to create the official cocktail of our city.

The socially distant event will be live-streamed on the City of Tampa and Tampa’s Downtown Facebook pages. A live panel of judges will vote on which drink best suits our City and the public will be able to order the winning cocktail at Winter Village. Drinks will be served in the official Riverwalk Cups, allowing the public to sip and stroll along the beautiful Tampa Riverwalk.

“After a year full of many let downs and postponed events we wanted to give our residents and visitors alike something to look forward to once we begin events again. Tampa’s a City that knows a thing or two about a party and we need a drink that captures the unique blend of Tampa flavor,” says Mayor Jane Castor. “This signature event will help highlight our exceptional drink scene in a fun and socially distant competition, which is exactly what we all need in 2020. We hope the community will join us as we raise a glass to our talented mixologists and make Tampa history!”

Mixologists from the following local hotspots will be competing to craft Tampa’s cocktail:

  • The Hub
  • Anchor & Brine
  • First Chance Last Chance
  • Armature Works (Bar AW)
  • Sail Plaza
  • Jackson’s Bistro
  • Remedy/Malio's Prime Steakhouse
  • American Social
  • District Tavern
  • White Lie
  • The Big Easy Bar
  • 7th + Grove
  • Forbici
  • Haven

During the Facebook live, mixologists will also have an opportunity to promote their virtual tip jars.

Crafting Tampa’s Cocktail will take place at Winter Village in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park on December 1st from 6-8pm. The City of Tampa would like to remind the public to please drink responsibly and practice COVID-19 safety.  Masks are REQUIRED for those attending in person.
