City of Tampa Hires New Chief Building Official, John Hudgison

As part of Mayor Jane Castor’s vision for Transforming Tampa’s Tomorrow, the City of Tampa has hired a new Construction Services Center Manager and Chief Building Official, John (JC) Hudgison.

 

Hudgison has over 13 years of experience in the fields of architecture, building code, construction, and construction management. Before assuming this new role with the City of Tampa, he spent 10 years with Columbus Consolidated Government.

 

As the City of Tampa’s CBO, Hudgison will play an important role in meeting the City’s development services goals and objectives. He will oversee building and site plan review, permitting and inspection processes for code compliance, develop procedures for the issuance of permits, assist the development community in the resolution of code interpretation, and other related tasks.

 

“While many of our lives have been put on hold due to coronavirus, we continue moving forward to transform Tampa’s tomorrow and build a brighter future for our city,” says Mayor Jane Castor. “Despite adversity, Tampa is still a city on the rise, and we are very excited to welcome John Hudgison to our team to support our development community. His background and expertise in construction management, building codes, and architecture are the perfect fit for what we are looking for here in Tampa.”

 

John (JC) Hudgison has begun working remotely as of this week. His starting salary is $119,500. Due to coronavirus, Construction Services is currently open for business via phone, email and online.
