On April 21st, the City of Tampa partnered with The Production Crew to light up Old City Hall tonight with important COVID-19 messages of safety, hope & unity.
The Production Crew will be projecting various images onto the north side of Old City Hall (along Kennedy Blvd)--intertwining images of families, health care professionals, patriotic symbols, and more along with messages like “#OneTampa”, “#HappyAtHomeTPA”, and “Tampa, Stay Home. Save Lives” that allow our residents to participate.
We want to remind everyone that although we are apart, we are not alone and we each have a critical role to play in flattening the curve of COVID-19. By projecting uplifting images on Old City Hall, we hope to unite the community through a shared sense of determination, resiliency, and pride.
‘In a time that may feel uncertain for many people in our community, we want to be a beacon of light for Tampa.” says Mayor Jane Castor. “We want to shine a light on everyone who is being a good neighbor, staying home to save lives, and helping us flatten the curve. Whether you see Old City Hall illuminated on your drive home from an essential service, like the many heroic healthcare workers at Tampa General Hospital, or even if you just see photos on social media, we hope this project can brighten someone’s day and remind our community that we are all facing this together and we will get through this together.”
This event took place on April 21 from 8:30 pm - 10:00 pm.
The City of Tampa would like to thank The Production Crew for their generous support with the #BeTheLight project.
