Mayor Announces Closures

MAYOR ANNOUNCES CLOSURES
TAMPA, Fla. (September 26, 2022) --  Under the direction of Mayor Jane Castor, all City of Tampa government offices will be closed starting Tuesday, September 27, 2022, until further notice. 

At this time, essential personnel are in place to assist with storm preparations and post-storm assessments. The Emergency Operations Center has also been fully activated.

Out of School Camp sites will remain open through Tuesday, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. Families must live in the City of Tampa limits to be eligible and children must bring a packed lunch and/or snacks. All other Tampa Parks & Recreation programs and special events are cancelled until further notice. Please see below for the updated list of Out of School Camp sites and note the locations listed in red will be closed Tuesday because they are in Evacuation Zones A and B. A new location, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Recreational Complex, has been added. 

Solid Waste residential and commercial collection services will run through noon Tuesday, with only blue City of Tampa garbage carts being collected. All other residential collection, like recyclables and yard waste, will take place after the storm, when it is safe to do so. Residents and businesses must secure carts ahead of inclement weather.
