The Tampa Police Department will host its 35th Annual Black History Celebration on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at 6:30 p.m., at the Hillsborough Community College Auditorium, 4001 W. Tampa Bay Boulevard.
This year's theme, "The Divine 9: A Legacy of Service and Commitment to the Citizens of Tampa Bay," will focus on the importance of historically Black fraternities and sororities that have launched community service initiatives to meet the needs of our community and the unique needs of African American residents. "The Divine Nine" is a name for the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), which is comprised of nine African American Greek lettered organizations focused on community awareness and action through educational, economic, and cultural service activities.
Each organization will be awarded funding through the Tampa Police Black History Month Committee at the celebration on Tuesday night.
