The City of Tampa is joining hands with Tampa General Hospital and LifeLink of Florida to encourage residents to register as organ, eye, and tissue donors during National Donate Life Month which is observed in April each year. As part of this partnership, the City's public facilities, parks and bridges in the downtown area will shine blue and green on April 30 to raise awareness of donation registration and to honor those who have saved lives through the gift of donation.
Floridians can join the state's organ and tissue donor registry at www.DonateLifeFlorida.org or when obtaining/renewing a driver license or identification card at a local driver license office. More than107,000 individuals in the United States await the gift of life through organ donation - over 5,000 of those are our friends and neighbors in Florida.
Organizations across Florida and the United States are encouraged to join in on spreading this life-saving message.
