Tampa’s Department of Solid Waste & Environmental Program Management drivers will compete in the 2022 SWANA (Solid Waste Association of North America) ROAD-E-O on April 22-23 in Fort Myers, FL.
Four City of Tampa Solid Waste Drivers will showcase their driving skills and simulate everyday scenarios that are experienced when collecting City of Tampa residential and commercial waste.
Competitors include:
- John Billingsley - Rear End Loader
- Bruce Davis – Tractor Trailer
- Willie Kitchen - Roll-off Truck
- Billy Grace - Automated Side Loader
City of Tampa Solid Waste drivers will compete against some of the best in the State from Lee County, Charlotte County, Santa Rosa County, City of Clearwater, City of Lakeland, City of Largo and Waste Pro Florida.
Competing in this year's event are close to 40 industry professionals who exemplify superb truck driving skills and techniques in their categories.
“As professional solid waste drivers in the State of Florida, this is the opportunity for drivers to show off their skills as some of the best solid waste drivers, operators and mechanics in the business and Florida,” said Road-E-O Chairman SWANA Florida Sunshine Chapter, Chairman Gene Gin.
