This Earth Day, the public is invited to learn how to keep their landscapes healthy and thriving while saving a precious resource: our water!

The Tampa Water Department Conservation team will be offering a series of mini workshops on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the 13th Annual EcoFest. Residents can learn how to make the most out of their irrigation system, pick Florida-Friendly plants, and manage their sandy soils

Mini-workshop topics include:

  • How to irrigate using less water
  • Learn what it means to have Florida-Friendly LandscapingTM
  • Getting the most out of your Florida soil
  • Why you want to add keystone plants

As the state experiences a seasonal drought, this information can help homeowners make their landscapes more drought tolerant and better adapt to changes in weather conditions.

The workshops will take place at 11am and 1pm. Participants will also receive free water-saving devices for their homes and be eligible for a raffle!

EcoFest 2023 is a family-friendly event, dedicated to the principles of Sustainability, Ecology, Equity, and Economy. The event will run from 10am to 3pm at MOSI, 4801 East Fowler Ave., Tampa, FL 33617. It is open to the public and admission is free.
