This information is 1 year 11 months old and may no longer be accurate.

Security is everyone’s responsibility. With large events such as Gasparilla happening in Tampa, event safety and crowd control are of utmost priority. That is why the Tampa Convention Center has partnered with Visit Tampa Bay to host this training aimed at giving venues the tools to be safer and more secure.

The training will cover topics such as situational awareness, de-escalation training for front-line teams, active threat/active shooter preparedness, and more.

Visit Tampa Bay is proud to underwrite the cost of this training and open it to the local hospitality industry. Tampa Convention Center and its partners also donated services for the event.

More than 100 attendees are expected, including Tampa Convention Center staff members, convention center partners, and representatives from local venues.

Parking will be available to media on Circle Drive by The Sail Plaza / Big Ray’s Fish Camp. The Ballrooms are on the First Floor and can be accessed through the Channel Entrance.
