Lifelong Tampa Resident's Home Renovated with West Tampa CRA's First Residential Exterior Improvement Grant
The West Tampa CRA has awarded and completed its first Residential Exterior Improvement grant to Mr. Rolando Bardaji, a lifelong Tampa resident and local artist.
Mr. Bardaji, who resides at 2116 W. Cass St., said he is grateful and blessed for having his home repaired through the program and will recommend it to anyone who needs assistance with improvements.
The Residential Exterior Improvement Grant Program offers owner-occupied households a matching grant of up to $25,000 for eligible exterior improvements on their homes, including exterior painting, roof repairs or replacement, HVAC system repairs or replacements, and ADA accessibility improvements.
Mourer & Mourer, a City of Tampa-approved contractor, completed several repairs on Mr. Bardaji's home, including:
- removed and replaced the existing shingle roof
- pressure washed exterior
- scraped all exterior wood surfaces
- replaced damaged exterior wood siding, trim, and window frame
- caulked exterior trim, windows, and siding
- painted all exterior house surfaces.
"We are making an impact in improving the community and implementing our Community Redevelopment Plan for the area, one grant at a time," said Jesus Nino, West Tampa CRA Manager. "We look forward to continuing our community efforts in partnership with the West Tampa CRA Citizen Advisory Committee and the West Tampa CRA residents."
