Rowlett Park Community Clean-up Celebrates Earth Day and Global Youth Service Day
The City of Tampa Parks & Recreation Department and Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful in partnership with Learn and Serve Tampa Inc. are hosting a community cleanup this Saturday at Rowlett Park.
Individuals, families, and groups of volunteers are encouraged to join the cleanup in and around Rowlett Park, located at 2401 E. Yukon St. from 8 - 11 a.m. on Earth Day, April 22. The event is open to all ages.
Volunteers will be assigned to groups, provided knit gloves, and plastic bags, and grabbers as available.
Volunteers can document three hours of community service with verification on-site. All participants must wear close-toed shoes and should apply sunscreen and bug spray. Coffee and donuts will be available starting at 7:30 a.m. with a safety orientation beginning at 8 a.m.
Learn and Serve Tampa Inc is a local nonprofit dedicated to youth service-learning. Following the cleanup, participants are encouraged to attend the 13th annual EcoFest at MOSI to collect a small “thank you” gift from Learn and Serve Tampa Inc.
The cleanup is also in recognition of Global Youth Service Day, a nationally-recognized Youth Service America (YSA) Day of Service.
