This information is 1 year 6 months old and may no longer be accurate.

Tomorrow, Tampa Parks & Recreation will celebrate the 13th annual Kids to Parks Day. This event is a day of outdoor exploration at local, state, and national parks and public lands across the country.

Millions of Americans will join the National Park Trust (NPT) on May 20 to honor America's parks and public lands by attending more than 1,000 free park events in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.

Bring the whole family and join us at either Copeland Park or MacFarlane Park for fun games, activities, music, community information and giveaways!

Similar to more than 400 cities nationwide, the City of Tampa and Mayor Jane Castor have signed a resolution of support proclaiming the third Saturday of every May as National Kids to Parks Day. Its mission is to foster future outdoor enthusiasts, engage children in memorable experiences, and encourage families to get outside and create their own adventures. By discovering and exploring parks, kids learn about park stewardship, STEM, and the history of our country and its amazing national treasures.

Visit kidstoparks.org for a complete list of park events by state and downloadable tips and activity guides to help children, families, and teachers plan park adventures.

ABOUT NATIONAL PARK TRUST:

National Park Trust is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to the preservation and protection of our national parks and the engagement of our youth – especially those who are under-served – with our country's public lands and water. As people spend more time indoors and as successive generations grow up with less of a connection to nature, NPT wants everyone to have an American park experience.
