The Tampa Police Department is committed to preventing DUIs and aims to reduce the number to zero DUI arrests across the city. Over the Labor Day weekend the Tampa Police Department increased their efforts to proactively address DUI offenses. Tampa Police Officers made 32 DUI arrests and zero BUI (Boating Under the Influence) arrests.
“Making a selfish decision to drive under the influence comes at a cost," said Chief Lee Bercaw. "There is no reason anyone should drive under the influence. One DUI is too many. Always plan for a sober ride or a designated driver to help us prevent you from becoming another statistic."
Driving Under the Influence is 100% preventable and Tampa PD is will continue their efforts in reducing the number of intoxicated drivers throughout the City of Tampa.
