Michael Bradford, a 55-year-old teacher at Chamberlain High School and the ROTC Captain, was arrested at the school Friday afternoon on felony child abuse and gun charges.

The victim, a 16-year-old male student, reported that his teacher, Bradford, became upset with him because he refused to participate in Personal Training (PT). According to the victim and witnesses, Bradford was standing over the victim, who was in a plank position, smacked the teen on the buttocks and said, "Here comes the T-Bag".

When the victim stood up, Bradford grabbed the victim by the neck before the victim moved away. The victim tried to use his cell phone to call a parent when Bradford reportedly grabbed the phone from him and threw it toward a truck in the parking lot.

The student was not injured. School employees immediately notified the School Resource Officer.

Bradford was escorted to his office to gather personal items, where officers recovered a Colt .45 caliber handgun and a loaded magazine inside an office cabinet.

Bradford was arrested and transported to Orient Road Jail, charged with Child Abuse and Possession of a Firearm on School Property.
