Tampa, FLA.- On Friday December 01, 2023, two suspects wanted for felony battery following a concert at Club Skye (1509 E. 8th Ave) turned themselves in to the Tampa Police Department.
Zachary L. Benton B/M, (DOB: 07/11/1989) is charged with Felony Battery in connection with the incident. Edward A. Hamlett B/M, (DOB: 05/07/2008) is charged with Felony Battery and Minor in Possession of a Firearm While Wearing a Mask.
On Monday, November 27, 2023, at approximately 1:17 a.m., following a concert at Club Skye (1509 E. 8th Ave), an adult male victim, attempted to approach the performer for a photo. Eyewitnesses told police when the victim tried to get a picture, Benton punched him without provocation and Hamlett then ran over and punched the victim several more times. The victim was transported to a local hospital.
Thanks to videos submitted and anonymous tips provided, detectives were able to positively identify the suspects involved and issue an arrest warrant.
