TAMPA, FLA. (February 5, 2024) - The Tampa Convention Center is anticipating heavy traffic on the morning of Wednesday, February 7, 2024, due to two events. There will be increased traffic related to Build Expo and the Hillsborough Regional Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Fair.
Drivers should anticipate additional traffic volume in Downtown Tampa near the Tampa Convention Center, including on S. Franklin St. leading to and from Harbour Island. Please plan extra time for your commute. Tampa Police will be stationed at crosswalks to assist with traffic flow and pedestrian crossings.
Approximately 2,000 people are expected to attend Build Expo, a top building and construction show for members of the industry. It is returning to the Tampa Convention Center on February 7 and 8, with traffic expected to peak at the beginning of the event.
About 2,000 students and family members are expected to attend the Hillsborough Regional STEM Fair, which is associated with Hillsborough County Public Schools, on February 7.
