Suspect Arrested and Charged Following Shooting at Ybor Parking Garage

TAMPA, Fla.- The Tampa Police Department arrested a 21-year-old male in connection to a shooting at a parking garage along the 1500 block of East 5th Avenue.

Around 2:50 am, officers on patrol nearby in Ybor heard shots being fired from a parking garage. Officers immediately responded and located three shooting victims. The three adult male victims were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A suspect was quickly located and arrested as he attempted to flee, driving out of the parking garage. A gun was recovered from the vehicle at the time of his arrest. The preliminary investigation revealed the shooting followed an argument between the victims and the suspect.  The individuals were not known to each other prior to the shooting.

 

Sunny E. Wallace (W/M DOB: 10-08-2002) is now charged with:

  • Attempted 2nd Degree Murder Using a Firearm Causing Great Bodily Harm
  • Aggravated Battery Great Bodily Harm Firearm
  • Aggravated Assault on Law Enforcement Officer with Deadly Weapon
  • Fleeing and Attempting to Elude a Police Officer
