The Department of Solid Waste will be revising services in preparation for Tropical Storm Helene.
The revised schedule is as follows:
Residential collection:
- Garbage, recycling, and yard waste collection will be suspended on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
- In preparation for the storm, secure your carts, containers and yard waste.
- We ask that you wait to place yard waste curbside until after the storm.
Commercial collection:
- Service will run through Wednesday, September 25, 2024, and will be suspended on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
- Downtown Tampa commercial collection, also known as C2S, will run on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, and then be suspended on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
- SWEEP and Special Pickup service will be affected. Residents under the current SWEEP collection should secure any items that still need to be collected. SWEEP will be canceled on Thursday, September 26, 2024. Make-up dates will be announced post-storm. Special services will be suspended on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
- McKay Bay Transfer Station and Scale House located at 114 S. 34th St., will be closed on Thursday, September 26, 2024. Residents with solid waste accounts are welcome to drop off their waste at no additional charge up until Wednesday, September 25, 2024, between 7 am to 3:30 pm.
Litter Skimmer: Litter Skimmer water clean-up and collection will be cancelled on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
Customers are encouraged to download the Tampa Trash and Recycling app on the Apple and Google Play Stores to receive real-time updates on service schedules.
