Red Bull Flugtag Traffic Information

Creativity, engineering, and a whole bunch of wackiness will be taking off when Red Bull Flugtag returns to Tampa on Saturday, November 9th outside the Tampa Convention Center. This will be the event's third flight in Tampa (previously 2008, 2011). It is free and open to the public and runs from noon to 5 PM. However, road closures will begin as early as 8 AM.

Upwards of 80,000 people are expected to watch teams attempt to "fly" their homemade creations. Please be aware, the huge volume of spectators will lead to significantly increased pedestrian activity around the Riverwalk at the Convention Center, limited parking, and traffic congestion. Arriving early is highly recommended.

Before, during and shortly after the event, a number of nearby roadways will be impacted by lane closures, see the attached map.

The West Platt Street Bridge and the Harbour Island Bridge will also be closed.

Attendees are encouraged to use alternative transportation options to get to and from the event. This includes parking in Ybor City and taking the free TECO Streetcar to the Greco Plaza. HART Buses, the DASH service, scooters, or ride sharing are also encouraged.

As always, please use extreme caution in and around the event location as it will attract tons of extremely caffeinated visitors to the area.
