A new collection schedule is now available for Christmas and New Year's holidays. In observance of Christmas Day, the City of Tampa offices will be closed on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, and Wednesday, December 25, 2024. In observance of New Year's Day, the City of Tampa offices will be closed on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
Residential Customers WILL NOT be affected:
- Christmas Eve:
- Tuesday collection will run as normal on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24, 2024.
- Christmas Day:
- Residential collection does not run on Wednesdays. Therefore, service will not be affected on Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25, 2024.
- New Year's Day:
- Residential collection does not run on Wednesdays. Therefore, service will not be affected on New Year's Day, Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
Thursday, January 2, 2025: Normal collection schedules will resume.
- Residential collection does not run on Wednesdays. Therefore, service will not be affected on New Year's Day, Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
Commercial Collection Service WILL NOT BE AFFECTED as follows:
- Christmas Holiday Collection Service:
- Tuesday, December 24, 2024, Christmas Eve collection service will run as normal.
- Wednesday, December 25, 2024, Christmas Day collection service will be provided on Thursday, December 26, 2024.
- Commercial services will run with a one-day delay on Christmas week, through Saturday, December 28, 2024.
- New Year's Holiday Collection Service:
- Wednesday, January 1, 2025, New Year's Day Collection service will be provided on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
- Commercial services will run with a one-day delay on New Year's Week, through Saturday, January 4, 2025.
- Commercial customers with a 65 or 95-gallon cart should follow the residential schedule.
McKay Bay Transfer Station and Scale House, located at 114 S. 34th Street.
- The facility will be closed Tuesday, December 24, through Wednesday, December 25, 2024, in observance of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
- Operating hours will resume Thursday, December 26 through Monday, December 30, 2024.
- Operating hours will resume Thursday, December 26 through Monday, December 30, 2024.
- In observance of New Year's Day, the McKay Bay Transfer Station will close at noon on New Year's Eve, Tuesday, December 31, 2024, and will be closed on New Year's Day, January 1, 2025.
- Normal operating hours will resume on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
Christmas Tree Collection Service:
The Department will begin offering curbside Christmas Tree Collection Service at no additional charge on Thursday, January 2, 2025. To take advantage of this service, residents must remove all decorations and lights, cut tree limbs to four (4) feet lengths, bundle, and place curbside on their regularly scheduled yard waste collection day. All discarded lights and/or decorations are not recyclable and must be placed in the garbage cart.
