City of Tampa Expands Fleet with the Addition of Electric Vehicles

The City of Tampa’s fleet is expanding along with its commitment of sustainability with the addition of 9 electric vehicles. The electric vehicles will be joining the 90 compressed natural gas-powered garbage trucks and over 30 hybrid vehicles currently in Tampa’s fleet. The electric vehicles were purchased as a part of Mayor Castor’s T3 initiative with long term plans of moving to 100% electric vehicles by purchasing 10 additional vehicles each year.
