As part of Mayor Jane Castor’s Transforming Tampa’s Tomorrow vision, key experts and stakeholders have been appointed to the Sustainability & Resiliency Advisory Team. The Sustainability and Resiliency Advisory Team is the 5th and final committee that will help ensure a prosperous future for the City of Tampa through strategic initiatives in: transportation, housing affordability, workforce development, development services, and sustainability and resiliency.

The mission of this committee is to advise Mayor Castor and City administrators on the implementation of the Tampa Resilience Roadmap (which will be released in early 2021) and to assist with development of the City’s first-ever Climate Action & Equity Plan. The team will meet regularly over the next 10-12 months to help launch several initiatives designed to secure a more prosperous, equitable, and sustainable future for Tampa.

“Sustainability and Resiliency affects everything we do at the City of Tampa,” says Mayor Jane Castor. “As our city continues transformational growth, we remain focused on being good social, environmental, and financial stewards. This Advisory Team will help us carve a path forward that lifts up every neighborhood, supports a greener and cleaner future, drives economic opportunities and empowers every resident in Tampa to feel included in our collective success. The past year, our City has demonstrated unmatched resilience despite every challenge; this advisory team will allow us to build upon that resilience and lay an even stronger foundation on which Tampa can continue to shine as the greatest City in the world for years to come.”
