Mayor Jane Castor and the City of Tampa welcome Brandie Miklus to the City of Team to help elevate the administration’s focus on mobility and infrastructure projects across the City.

Brandie’s extensive experience in transportation & infrastructure planning, strategic communications, community engagement and consensus building, combined with her strong understanding of Tampa’s residents and neighborhoods will serve the City well during a time of unprecedented investment in our infrastructure systems. Brandie will support major programs and projects such as the multi-billion dollar PIPES project (Progressive Infrastructure Planning to Ensure Sustainability), the City’s proactive approach to renewing infrastructure, preventing breakdowns, and providing long-term permanent fixes to our water and wastewater systems.  Brandie will be the friendly face of the PIPES program as well as other key programs and initiatives to support Mayor Castor’s plan in “Transforming Tampa’s Tomorrow.” (www.tampagov.net/t3) Brandie will be in a unique position to identify opportunities for improved communication and coordination across City Departments, which will help to identify overlaps in capital projects, minimizing disruptions to the community and improving cost effectiveness.

“At the beginning of my administration I made a commitment to modernize our mobility and infrastructure system and do so in a streamlined, efficient approach,” said Mayor Jane Castor. “Brandie’s hire will add an increased focus in ensuring our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with appropriate communication to the neighborhoods and our residents.”

“We are excited to have Brandie’s unique talents in urban planning and communications to help us coordinate the billions of dollars of PIPES work and multitude of Mobility projects,” said Infrastructure and Mobility Administrator Jean Duncan. “Her knowledge of Tampa is also a great asset.”

Brandie’s hire is one in a series of hires in the Infrastructure and Mobility portfolio that will serve in vital roles in education, communication and project execution.

As someone who is incredibly passionate about safe mobility for all, Brandie will also collaborate with the City’s new Vision Zero Coordinator, Alana Brasier, to enhance neighborhood outreach and public educational campaigns relating to creating a safer transportation network and achieving Vision Zero, the concept that all serious injuries and deaths on our roadways are preventable.

“I am thrilled to join the City of Tampa’s Infrastructure and Mobility Administration to support Mayor Jane Castor in Transforming Tampa’s Tomorrow,” said Brandie Miklus, AICP. “I look forward to partnering with community members throughout the City to enhance our City’s infrastructure and help to map a blueprint for Tampa’s future.”

The position is within the Infrastructure and Mobility Administration under Jean Duncan, P.E.
